Safely Secure Your Site with Ban Filter
Ban Filter is an amazing feature of phpFox, as it's useful to control and make your site robust.
The feature helps against spammers, offensive commenters and/or those who violate commenting policy on your site.
Additionally, during Sign Up/Sign In process, Ban Filter plays a role as a barrier to prevent from auto creating account by Bot.
Some of its filters included:
1. UserName
2. Email
3. IP Address
4. Display
5. Word
To access Ban Filter, from Admin CP >> Maintenance >> Ban Filters
You can use fixed words or use patterns to cover all the cases.
In addtional, Ban Filter also provides options to process for banned users such as reason, how long, effected groups and after being expired, they will be auto assigned into a certain group
Where they are
From #1 to #4, you can find them on Sign Up/Sign In process. For #5, it works when you're a member of site, you post a comment, post a blog or page and more, developer of those apps/modules will use "words" filler to show error for users as not allowed to use those words.
Note: If you find as not working with certain apps or modules. Maybe developers of them have not yet integrated, so you need to get in touch with them to suggest this on the future version.
